Thai transportation

Many, many Thais have trucks and cars.  Hondas and Toyotas are popular.  Kanya and Sutin’s son-in-law loved Ford trucks.  However, there are many other ways to get around.  One device I see often here in the village looks like an old tractor engine with a cart built on the back.  People carry wood and corn and rice and any other large things they need to transport.  There are often families in the cart, including dogs.  The usual transportation is motorcycles.  Even if people have a car or truck, they probably also have a motorcycle.  They are old and new, fast and clunky, but used for all sorts of purposes.  In Singburi I saw someone with dry cleaning hanging from a make shift kind of rod.  The ice cream man drives a motorcycle with a side car.  The 3 wheel transportation looks like a motorcycle with a bus built on.  Thais travel on motorcycles as a family, including babies.  I have seen up to 4 people on one.  Hardly anyone wears a helmet and kids as young as 11 or 12 are driving motorcycles.  People also use bicycles and that of course is my transportation.  I can ride in cars and take buses, but we are not allowed to drive or ride on motorcycles.
One picture is someone selling and people buying mushrooms in the village. There are vendors who drive through the village selling various things, I’ve seen fruit, veggies, mattresses, toys.  The other pictures are random in an attempt to show you some of the common sites.
