Nice vacation in
Southern Thailand at Railay, in Krabi.
It is a beautiful spot with warm, clear, clean water and soft sand. We took a tour of 4 islands and got to
snorkel, swim and enjoy the Adaman Sea.
There was a hiking trail behind our hotel that was a challenging climb,
enough to get the heart rate up, but nothing like Colorado. The food was good, especially the fruit plate
for breakfast. No dogs at Railay, just
some sweet, clean kitties.
The rock climbing was
fun to watch and looked like a climbers’ paradise.
The people were taller,
darker and had curlier hair compared to my village. The industry is tourism and the feel is
different from Issan. Thailand is a land
of variety!
One of the unexpected
delights was meeting people from all over.
We were on the island tour with 3 darling girls from Sweden and several
Thai families. On the boat to Railay we
met a couple from the states and 2 young men from England. A waitress at one of the Thai restaurants was
from Canada.
On the way from Bangkok
we met 2 couples from Australia and we came back in a boat with 2 girls who met
in Thailand and are travelling together, one from New Zealand and one from
England.
